PadelEngage vs Playtomic

Both platforms are used in the padel world. They are not built for the same thing. This page explains the difference clearly and honestly.

The question coaches ask most often

Playtomic is everywhere. If you coach at a UK padel venue in 2026, there is a good chance the venue uses Playtomic for court bookings. Players are already on it. You may have coaching sessions listed on it. So the question is reasonable: if I am already on Playtomic, do I need anything else?

The honest answer depends on what you are trying to do. If you want to fill court time at a venue, Playtomic is designed for that. If you want to build an independent coaching business with your own player base, your own brand, and your own payment flow — Playtomic is not designed for that.

This is not a criticism of Playtomic. It is a description of what it was built to do.

The key differences, stated plainly

What Playtomic is for

Playtomic is a court booking platform. Venues list courts. Players book them. Coaching exists as a secondary feature within a venue’s Playtomic account. The coach is a line item in the venue’s product — not an independent business with their own presence.

What PadelEngage is for

PadelEngage is a coaching business platform. Each coach gets their own website, their own booking system, their own Stripe account, and their own player database — none of which depends on a particular venue. The coach is the product.

Who owns the player data

On Playtomic, player data lives in the venue’s account. If you leave the venue, you do not take the player data with you. On PadelEngage, player data lives in your account. When you change venues, your player base comes with you.

Who controls your pricing and profile

On Playtomic, your coaching profile and pricing are set within the venue’s account — typically by the venue manager. On PadelEngage, you control everything: your bio, your services, your pricing, your availability.

Where your income goes

On Playtomic, session revenue flows through the venue’s setup. Fee arrangements vary by venue. On PadelEngage, player payments go directly to your own Stripe account. PadelEngage charges a flat monthly subscription — no cut on session revenue.

When to use both

Some coaches use Playtomic for discovery — it has a large existing player community that can surface new clients — while running their actual coaching business through PadelEngage. The platforms serve different purposes and do not conflict with each other.

“I was listed on my venue’s Playtomic but all the bookings went through the venue. When I started thinking about going more independent, I realised I had no player contact list, no booking history, nothing that was mine. PadelEngage was how I started actually owning my business.”

Frequently asked questions

If my venue uses Playtomic, will using PadelEngage cause any conflict?

No. PadelEngage operates independently of whatever system a venue uses. Your PadelEngage page handles your direct player relationships — bookings that players make with you, paid directly to you. This sits alongside the venue’s own Playtomic setup without conflict.

Does PadelEngage have a court booking feature?

No. PadelEngage is for coaching management — booking coaching sessions, collecting payment, managing player relationships. It does not book courts. If you need court booking for your venue, Playtomic does that well.

Can I migrate my Playtomic player list to PadelEngage?

Player data in Playtomic belongs to the venue’s account, so a direct export may not be straightforward. Most coaches migrate by asking existing players to book their next session through their new PadelEngage page. The transition typically takes 4-6 weeks.

What if I want to leave PadelEngage — can I take my player data?

Yes. GDPR compliance includes the right to data export. You can export your full player list and booking history from your PadelEngage dashboard at any time.
